The 2019 KCOS Art Auction will be held on two weekends
April 27 & 28, and May 4 & 5, 2019 from 5 pm – 9 pm each evening.
This year’s juried competition was judged by the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department and are featured here: https://www.kcosartauction.org/about.
Special collections (non-juried) also include original works and fine art prints from many early El Paso artists including Tom Lea, Jose Cisneros, Manuel Acosta, Rudy Montoya, Frederick Carter, Robert Massey and many more.
The KCOS Art Auction gives local artists the opportunity to display their best work all while giving the local audience the chance to win and bid on their favorite piece(s). The event supports the arts and local artists while remaining an engaging experience for viewers and supporters who are able to participate in the broadcast from home.
“We also will be live-streaming this event online (on Facebook and YouTube) which is amazing because we’ll be showcasing some amazing artwork and now it can be enjoyed by fans beyond our broadcast reach as well,” said General Manager Emily Loya. “We are incredibly honored to have received so many pieces by such talented artists. This is also one of the most significant fundraisers that we have each year.”
More than 120 pieces are available for bidding. Interested bidders are encouraged to bid live by calling (915) 881-0013 during the auction. Interested bidders who are unable to watch live but still want to bid are encouraged to contact KCOS to set up proxy bidding their behalf. All the work is currently on display inside the KCOS Offices and the public is welcome to visit during business hours and see the artwork in person in advance of the auction.
This event support El Paso’s PBS station and public television in the local community. For four decades, KCOS has been inspiring, informing and educating viewers in the Paso del Norte region thanks to the generous support the community in events like these.
